Independent Living Trials or Short-term assessment placements

What is the purpose of an Independent Living Trial?

An Independent Living Trial (ILT) is a structured rehabilitation programme designed to assess and build a person’s skills for living independently. These are usually carried out within a self-contained apartment or house, either on the site of a rehabilitation service or in private accommodation in the community.

Independent Living Trials are important to get an accurate idea of your capabilities and support needs in a real-life situation.

How can Ariya Neuro Care support with accommodation?

Ariya Neuro Care offers stylish, high-quality, self-contained apartments and bungalows within the support of their community rehabilitation services, that can be booked for Independent Living Trials (ILTs). Alternatively, Ariya Neuro Care can support you to set up in alternative community accommodation.

The Ariya Neuro Care apartments are already set up with household items, so you don’t have to worry. You can, of course, bring items to make you feel at home that can be adjusted to individual needs. Likewise, our Supported Living Team are proactive and efficient in helping get your accommodation set up if you have a private rental.

What support can Ariya Neuro Care provide?

Our community Supported Living Service can provide highly skilled Rehabilitation Support Workers to help you in daily living and to work alongside your therapists to achieve your goals. They can also help you develop community links and support you in leisure activities, alongside vocational retraining or return to work support, as appropriate.

We can work alongside your existing therapists for the Independent Living Trial or utilise our own therapists. We will work with your Case Manager or Social Worker to establish the most effective team for you.

Our proactive team of Rehabilitation Support Workers are there to ensure you thrive and will provide warm, encouraging, respectful support (including humour when required!). They help you iron out any difficulties as the trial progresses, whilst ensuring you are celebrating your successes and achievements.

As a broader rehabilitation provider, we also have the potential for in-reach, community network or educational options with other post-injury peers.

Our strengths:
